O.W. Lee was started in Pasadena, California in 1974 by Oddist W. Lee. Prior to World War II, he worked as a welder for Brown Williams, the predecessor to the Brown Jordan Company. Brown Williams was disbanded during the war as materials were hard to come by, and plans were in place to restart after the war. As plans tend to do, they changed and Oddist went into business for himself, handcrafting custom gates, railings, and furniture for the estates in Southern California. Eventually he began to sell directly to furniture stores and incorporated under the name O.W. Lee Company in 1954. Oddist’s son, Bob, joined him while still in high school and eventually took over the business when he retired.
Today, third and fourth generations of the Lee family continue Oddist’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship more than 65 years later. Due to their history as a manufacturing company in the U.S., they have many advantages in grandfathered-processes and permits that a startup business cannot obtain today. Their biggest challenge currently is competing against poor-quality imports. They refuse to outsource their labor or lower their standards and so rely on informing consumers about their quality, value, and one of the best warranties in the business.
O.W. Lee furniture is available only from authorized dealers throughout North America and Europe. Through three generations, O.W. Lee has maintained its commitment to quality, and it will continue to produce the finest handcrafted casual furniture available. O.W. Lee has been an American family tradition since 1947.
O.W. Lee furniture is handcrafted using centuries-old techniques combined with state-of-the-art equipment to produce beautiful, casual, outdoor furnishings. They use only the highest quality materials for their products. Carbon steel, galvanized steel, and 6061 alloy aluminum are meticulously chosen for their superior strength as well as rust and corrosion resistance.
A few pieces we feel show the variety of the O.W. Lee lineup:
The Siena Lounge Group
The simple yet elegant lines of the Siena collection evoke a traditional flair of 19th century Italian farmhouse living. With details such as fluted square and flat bar, twisted steel top bar, and hand forged scroll work, this collection is as timeless as it is beautiful. Although smaller in scale, this collection features their proprietary PlushComfort® cushioning system to maximize all-day comfort.
The Creighton Collection
The new Creighton collection is a fully customizable sectional, deep-seating group that truly embraces modern industrial design. Inspired by trestle-style iron work often used in an industrial capacity, this group offers details of a bygone era with modern styling.
The Gios collection is designed with both form and function in mind. Designed with a distinct and refreshingly simple take on contemporary outdoor furniture, it also functions as a gathering place for friends and family and is exceptionally comfortable.
